A hearty welcome to SanDee&amelie's challenge blog!

Please, note, that this challenge blog is not related to any business and run without any profit by people, who do this for your and their own leisure time fun! Our only reward are your encouraging comments and your playing along and sharing steampunk fun and mixed media techniques. We appreciate every single entry and comment so much! Thank you for taking the time!

If you are new to this place, please, know that we are so glad that you stopped by our little steampunk corner!
Whether you are a dedicated tag or card maker, art journaler or mixed media lover - this might be the right place for you!
For more information about the rules and the little "steampunk/industrial twist" we ask of you, please check the "about" stuff and then simply jump in and create!

If you are new to steampunk and not sure if this is "your thing", maybe take a look at our winners gallery on pinterest (use the linking button on our side bar). You will find that we're mainly a mixed media challenge blog with a little twist towards steampunk, industrial and/or vintage. So why not give it a try?

We are looking forward to seeing your fab projects entered to one of our challenges soon!

Hugs,
SanDee&amelie&the SASPC team

SASPC Winter Special Reminder, our New DecoArt Prize Bundle and some Christmas Steampunk

Hi, servus and welcome to our reminder post for this year's winter special challenge over here at SanDee&amelie's Steampunk Challenges, dear steampunk and industrial style friends!

Our winter special challenge is already in full swing and there's still time until the end of December to play along! For more details on the challenge theme and for some inspiration from the DT, please click on the image on top of our side bar to get taken to the challenge kick off post. But there's new inspiration from the DT today as well - so maybe you should first read to the end of this post ;)
The button to enter your project to our inLinkz collection can be found at the end of this post here but also with the post from 1. November.

Our next challenge starts on January 1st and the Top5 and prize winners from the winter special challenge will be announced on January 15th. But now on to some exciting news...

I am very happy and proud to introduce to you our new amazing prize bundle from DecoArt for 2019!!!!

A collection of 9 selected DecoArt Americana premium acrylic paints and 6 premium mediums in a fantastic prize bundle about $50 worth will be our new give-away for the new year! Wow! A huge thank you to my wonderful DecoArt ladies and to DecoArt for their generosity!

And lovely Glenda from boozybear with her fantastic steampunk chipboard pieces (in a surprise package) will be with us again too of course!

So don't miss the chance to win - all you have to do is play along ;)

And if you need a little additional inspiration to get you going, here are some makes from the design team to celebrate Christmas steampunk style ;)

has created this amazing "Wishes" tag and lighted two beautiful Christmas (or Advent) candles for you.

I love that little scroll at the bottom of the tag!

I guess the clock is counting down the days until Christmas Eve... ;)

went for traditional greens and reds for Christmas...
and for some cool texture

"Circuit to the Christmas Star"
shows how beautifully steampunk and a Christmas theme
can be fused

has come up with a stunning Christmas tag
that has some amazing crackle and hints of rusty shades and wire

and I

- Claudia -

had to play with some newly bought house dies and created a little
winter scene on a Christmas tag, using various metal paints and other glitter effect paints alongside
a good dose of faux rust on the houses

Even the snow has been stained with rust it seems... ;)

The team and I would like to wish you all

and a Happy New Year!

We hope to see you play along with us again in 2019. Thank you to all our wonderfully creative and true players out there and to our generous sponsors for being part of this wonderful creative journey! You all rock and we wouldn't be here without you! Mwah! xxx

SASPC Summer Special Challenge Reminder and Throwback in Time

Hi, servus and welcome to a summer special challenge reminder that is a little different from the ones from the last years. As the whole team have already posted their makes on the 1st of July (HERE), I thought I could use this opportunity to look back at the very beginnings of this challenge blog and pick some projects that deserve to be put into the spotlight again.

All the details and the collection to enter your projects for our summer special challenge into, can be found HERE (or by clicking on the badge on the top of our side bar). There is still time until the end of August to enter up to five makes (instead of the usual three) to try to win one of our two fab prize bundles that will be given away by lovely Glenda from boozybear and DecoArt media.

But let's start with our throwback in time! Sandra and I founded this challenge blog and soon started having special guests (so there were more than just two "design duo" projects). I still remember having lovely Candy Colwell as our guest in our very first year. The little miniature dresser made for our "matchbox steampunk" challenge was just breathtakingly amazing and so beautiful!

Karolina Stopyra aka Drycha was our guest in June 2013 and created this adorable steampunk fish card with cogs scales for us!

Sandra, whom I still miss dearly, was the one who had the idea of setting up our own mixed media steampunk challenge blog - so we actually owe her this wonderful creative spot! I am so happy that she made me do this! She sadly had to turn down her creative hobby and we have lost touch. I hope she is happy and doing well!

Our wonderful and true Brigitte finally turned our duo into a team of three in November 2013...and this was her first project as a regular DT member:

In March 2014 Susan Janicula aka klistersoster joined the design team (and I am so happy and proud to tell that she has been with us since then!) with this cool steampunk steampunk card.

Dear Kerstin joined the design team a little later and this lovely altered box was her first project as our new member:

And I am still in love with former design team member Agnieszka's adorable steampunk bowler hat!

http://meresanth.blogspot.co.at/

Lovely Nate, who had been with us for quite a while too, amazed me with this beautiful project (well, not just with this particular one...lol):

And fabulous Zoja has been creating the most amazing assemblage pieces since she has joined our design team (and hopefully will do so for much longer :)

Wonderful Maura has rejoined our design team some time ago - which has made me very happy! She has been making the most inventive and funniest projects ever since - like this Tyvek charm she has created from used envelopes and acrylic paints and media.

And my wonderful and dear friend Laura was part of our amazing design team too! I miss her and her wonderful projects.

And of course there were the most inspiring makes by amazingly talented Niki to be admired on our challenge blog...

...and not to forget about Dee, who has enriched our design team with her unique projects too!

Lovely and evenly amazing Alexa was the last talent to join our design team and I am so happy to have her!

With all these amazing talents I have had or still have the pleasure to work alongside I can call myself a very lucky challenge blog owner, can't I?

I hope you have enjoyed this little creative time warp as much as I have! I can't believe that this is year six on my journey as a challenge blog owner! And I can't believe how far we have come! I am so thankful and proud of all the wonderful guest designers we have had and of all our true and fantastic players, who join in so regularly, and I am also thankful for our fabulous current prize sponsors boozybear and DecoArt media, and all our former prize sponsors too! Thank you all so much for helping and having helped making this place the special spot it is today!

Our summer special challenge is open for one more month and you can simply click on the badge at the top of our sidebar or scroll down to the previous post to learn about the details and to get to the actual DT makes and the inlinkz collection to join in! Thanks for stopping by and happy summer holidays!

SASPC May 2018 Challenge Mid Month Reminder plus our April Top 5 and Prize Winners

Servus and welcome back to our second round of inspirational projects for the May challenge as well as to the announcement of our April Top 5 and prize winners!

This is the last time that we're presenting the team's makes in two parts. From next month on you will get the full dose of inspiration from the design team at the verystart of the monthly challenge on the 1st, which will be followed by the announcement of our Top5 and prize winners on the 15th. Next month's challenge will be hosted by lovely Maura, who has so willingly and lovingly jumped in to help me with running the challenge blog from now on! Those who already know Maura, know that you will be in good hands with her.

This month's challenge theme is - as always - an

Anything Goes - Steampunk/Industrial

and we only ask that you only enter Steampunk and Industrial themed makes to our challenges or our facebook group and follow our really few and simple rules when playing along so we can consider you for our top votes and prize draws! I have also added information on entering a facebook link to our challenge link up collection to the rules as the team and I have been repeatedly experiencing issues with not being able to see projects (and therefor also not being able to comment on them) because of facebook privacy settings. Sadly of course these makes can also not be included with the votes and prize draws (as we can simply not see them). So IF you want to play along and enter your make to the inlinkz collection from your facebook account, make sure we can see what you have entered without having to be friends on facebook! Thank you!

Let's start with prize winners this time.

As always DecoArt media and lovely Glenda from boozybear will give away a prize to our two monthly winners that I draw randomly from all proper entries.

And this fab bundle of DecoArt media goodness

goes to

entry #25
Agnes Kieler

and a surprise package of awesome steampunk chipboards from boozybear

goes to

entry #20
eMKa

Congrats on your prize wins, ladies, and thanks so much for playing along! Please, email me under the address given in the side bar so I can forward your shipping details to Glenda and DecoArt asap. DecoArt prize winners, please, also provide a phone number.

Next up the makes of Team B!

has created a special "Lady Light"
using boozybear chipboard wings, DecoArt products and loads of imagination!

made this fantastic trio of ATCs
that she calls
"Children of the Gear"

(love the title...and the ATCs, of course!)

"Petrified Kraken"
on another of her beautiful altered bottles
amazes with fantastic texture
and once more a beautifully aged and worn look
I wonder what it was that scared the poor kraken so much...

and I

have once more chosen to play on the small format of an ATC
(I am always amazed by how much media and effects can be used and shown on a project so small of size). The new DecoArt pouring medium has found its way onto my ATC as well as some of my old favourites like Metallic Lustre, Antiquing Creams and Crackle Paste.

By clicking on the teamies' names you get taken to their blogs to find out more about the projects (like products and techniques used or steps images so you can create your own interpretations). If you take a second to leave them a short comment you will make them very happy. Thank you so much!

***

And last but not least - our Top 5 from the April challenge!

(in no particular order)

with her lovely
Air Balloon Lamp

with this amazing tag
in her very unique style

and her awesome "Gorgoneion Assemblage" mirror

These are just amazing makes, ladies! Thank you so much for sharing them with us and for the fantastic inspiration! Please, feel free to grab the Top 5 badge from the top of this post (or the side bar) for display on your blogs!

A huge THANK YOU to all the other players too - we always love ALL the fantastic projects you enter to our challenges so constantly (and almost always there are so many who are really hot on the Top 5s' heels so we could easily do a Top 32 post if that made sense....)! It is EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU and your creativity who make this creative spot the special place it is! XXX

***

The current challenge is open until the end of the month - so still enough time to play along. The team and I would love to see your makes entered to the collection and have you join in our steampunk mixed media sharing fun!

Hugs and happy crafting!

March 2018 SASPC Mid Month Reminder, Top5 & Prize Winners Post

Oh, well, that's quite a long title for a post, but that is what this post is about: we will be announcing our Top5 and prize winners from the February challenge AND also share the second round of inspirational projects created by Team B today...so let me just say a short "Servus, hi and thanks for stopping by!" and move directly to the challenge facts for our current March challenge, which is once more an "Anything Goes - Steampunk/Industrial" themed one and still open until the end of the month.

By playing along you get the chance to win one of the two fab prize bundles donated by our generous sponsors DecoArt media and boozybear steampunk chipboard pieces. And you might also find yourselves being picked as one of our Top5 (that are picked by the whole team after each challenge has ended)....all you have to do is play along and follow our few and simple challenge rules

With that said, let's directly move on to the makes of Team B. My wonderfully creative ladies have once more put a lot of love and labour into creating something for your inspiration, so, if you take a second to visit their blogs (by clicking on the names) and leave a short comment there, this is highly appreciated!

created this amazing and beautiful canvas
for her "Rusty Fantasies" canvas series
using some brilliantly done faux rust techniques

(I love the rusty sea star I have spotted! And the pipes to the left are so cool! Oh, and do I also spot some corrugated card? Yummy!!!)

could not pass this month by without a tribute to her favourite holiday - St. Patrick's Day!
She tells you to "Look for a mischievous leprechaun and see if you can get him to give you his gold!"

(I spot more corrugated card! Yesssss!!!!)

created a steampunk mini album
using acrylic paints, stencils, dies and ephemera from her stash

The inside looks great too!

(I just love the vintage photograph on the left page and the background patterns!)

et moi

I have created a fun steampunk chunky from corrugated card (lol...here we go again) left overs,
using different bits 'n bobs that I found during tidying up and reorganizing some of my
"trash treasures" and "quickly put to the side" boxes.

Finding long forgotten stash (like the stamp I used on this project and the die cut gears) while tidying up can be a great source of inspiration! The only problem is that the tidying now will have to wait until you have created something with the re-found oldies! Ore maybe a bit longer...lol

***

Now let's directly move on to the prize winners, which are...

#21 - Senna

who won the DecoArt media prize bundle

and

#5 - Sue

who won a surprise steampunk chipboard package from

Congrats on your prize wins, ladies, and thanks so much for playing along! Please, email me, so I can forward your shipping details to my generous sponsors to have your goodies be sent to you asap! Have fun!

***

And last but not least...drumroll for our Top5 from the February challenge! These were - as always - hard to pick and - as always - had a lot of follower ups. Thank you to ALL OUR PLAYERS for entering such amazing and inspiring projects! You know that it is YOU, who make this spot the special creative spot it has become, don't you? XXX

Top 5

Well done, ladies, and thank you so much for sharing your amazing and fun steampunk art with us! Please, feel free to grab the badge for display on your blogs!
