A hearty welcome to SanDee&amelie's challenge blog!

Please, note, that this challenge blog is not related to any business and run without any profit by people, who do this for your and their own leisure time fun! Our only reward are your encouraging comments and your playing along and sharing steampunk fun and mixed media techniques. We appreciate every single entry and comment so much! Thank you for taking the time!

If you are new to this place, please, know that we are so glad that you stopped by our little steampunk corner!
Whether you are a dedicated tag or card maker, art journaler or mixed media lover - this might be the right place for you!
For more information about the rules and the little "steampunk/industrial twist" we ask of you, please check the "about" stuff and then simply jump in and create!

If you are new to steampunk and not sure if this is "your thing", maybe take a look at our winners gallery on pinterest (use the linking button on our side bar). You will find that we're mainly a mixed media challenge blog with a little twist towards steampunk, industrial and/or vintage. So why not give it a try?

We are looking forward to seeing your fab projects entered to one of our challenges soon!

SanDee& amelie's October 2019 Top 5 and Prize Winners!

Hi, servus and welcome to the announcement of the Top 5 and prize winners from our October challenge!

Once more you have all wowed us with the entered projects and picking our favourites was a difficult job (well, honestly it almost always is...). Thank you all so much for always sharing your amazing and imaginative makes with us! This really means a lot to the team and me!

Sadly this time we had to exclude several entries from our Top 5 picks and prize draws this time as there was no mention and back link to our challenge blog (independent of where you are entering our challenges from - facebook, Instagram, your blogs or other social media platforms). It always makes me sad when we have to exclude anyone as my main goal is to make you all happy and have you enjoy some creative quality time on here...so, please, make sure you read our few challenge rules before you play along!!! Linking to our challenge blog is almost all we ask for (besides a few other simple rules to go by) - it is what keeps this blog running and helps at making our challenges known to a growing public - which honestly is our sole reward the team and I get for doing this in our spare time.

But let's move on to what makes us all happy ;) ...

The two prize winners were - as always - randomly drawn among all proper entries and this time the fabulous DecoArt prize bundle

goes to

entry # 20

Marie

and a cool surprise package of awesome steampunk chippies designed and sold by boozybear

goes to

entry # 6

Cathy

Yay! Congrats, ladies, on your prize wins! Please, contact me under my email given in the side bar so I can forward your shipping details to our generous sponsors. DecoArt winners, please, also give a phone number as DecoArt will only ship if they are provided with a number that can be called in case of any delivery issues at customs and such.

And quickly on to our

 Top 5

from the October challenge!
(as always they're presented in no particular order)

who wowed us with this beautiful "manni".

whose little Haunted House
is just so charming and beautiful

altered bottle is just so freakin' cool, isn't it?

who did her magic on this fabulous tag using
a receipt paper roll!

and

who did an amazing job
creating faux rust and patina
on this fab organiser

Well done, ladies! Thanks so much for playing along!!! Huge congrats on making our Top5 this time! Please, feel free to grab the Top5 badge for display on your blogs!

SanDee and Amelie's Steampunk Challenges: Winter Special Challenge!

Hello and welcome friends, to our little corner of the Steampunk Universe!

Maura here, tightening up my corset and getting ready for the holidays.   We love having you here, playing along with us in a mixed media, steampunk and industrial style!

We have a Winter Special  challenge for the months of November and December...we know how busy the holiday times can be for all of us, so this will give you extra time to create and share, and still enjoy all the holiday fun. We also change the usual rule of three entries per person and challenge to five entries for our specials challenges - so there are five chances to win one of the two prizes instead of the usual three!

The design team has some great inspiration for you, and wishes you a relaxing and joyful holiday season!

Our Winter Special  challenge is, as usual...

 Anything Goes - Steampunk/Industrial

We welcome all types of projects (except digitally created) and encourage everyone, from beginner to  experienced to join us every month and share your creations. Show us your tags, cards, canvas, art journal, altered objects...whatever you can imagine that fits our theme of steampunk/industrial.
We truly are in awe of the imagination and creativity of you, our players, and look forward each challenge to see where your creative muse took you!
Please be sure to link our URL to your blog post, Facebook page, Instagram page or wherever you are posting your project, so that we can consider you for our Top 5 and prize winners.

Many thanks to our wonderful and generous sponsors,

 and boozybear

...for keeping the cogs and gears turning here at SASPC! At the end of each challenge, two winners are randomly selected from all proper entries (be sure to check out our posted rules) and will either get an awesome DecoArt Media prize package, or an amazing chipboard package.

Now...on to the awesome makes from our wonderful team!

is wishing you all happy holidays and hopes that creating fallen snow on her steampunk tag will do its magic so she will have a white X-mas in Vienna this year.

is getting us ready for holiday dinners with her delicious recipe for some beautiful fish

Happy Cauldron

Let's all cook together...Menu of the day: Do more of what makes you happy!!

is also dreaming of a white Christmas
as her beautiful project shows

Come on! I dare you...to join us and have some steampunk fun!

Thanks for stopping by our little corner of the Steampunk Universe. We hope to see you playing along with us these months in our steampunk/industrial challenge which is open until the end of December.

Remember, we will have two prize draws and choose the design team's Top 5!  Top 5 for the Winter Special  and prize winners will be posted on January 15th,  so be sure to pop back to check that out.

Time to put your top hat on, add a few jingle bells and get crafting with us!
Hugs, happy holidays, and happy crafting!

SanDee&amelie's October 2019 Steampunk Challenge

Hi, servus and welcome to our October challenge, dear steampunk and industrial style friends!
The team and I have obviously been in Halloween mood already as our design team projects will show - and of course a mix of Halloween and steampunk/industrial is very welcome this month.

Our challenge theme is once again

Anything Goes - Steampunk/Industrial

and even if you are not heavily into these styles all it needs to play along is to add a recognisable touch of steampunk to your makes. And if you think "well, this way I won't make it into the Top5 compared to the heavy-dose-of-steampunk makes, just let me tell you you're wrong. And there is also the chance of winning one of our two monthly prizes donated by our generous sponsors DecoArt and boozybear! These are picked randomly among ALL proper entries and "proper" means that the entries stick to our few challenge rules (which can be found in the pages tabs below our blog header).

The challenge is as always open until the end of the month and I would once more like to remind you of the importance of adding a link to our challenge blog to your entry posts (no matter if they are blog posts or coming from Instagram or facebook & Co) so we can include your entry with our Top5 picks and prize draws. It always makes me sad when I draw a winners number (using random.org) and then check if the entry post follows our really few (but for us important) rules to find I have to dismiss this number and draw another instead. Making people happy makes me happy, you know?

And as the challenge blog owner your always mindblowingly awesome entries make me very happy - as well as the incredibly creative makes of my wonderful design team! So let's have a look at their projects (and I would like to invite you to take some more seconds before you wipe on to visit their blogs to check out their makes close up and leave them a short comment - so they know their hard work gets seen and appreciated. Thank you! You get to the team's blogs by clicking on their names).

Sadly Brigitte aka coutureuse - my very first design team member since Sandra and I started this challenge blog (so to me she was kind of an SASPC primary rock and I couldn't imagine running this blog without her...but sadly now have to) - had to leave the team (real life issues...we sadly all know that) and we all wish her all the best and loads of good health and that things will get easier and well soon so she can (hopefully) return! Brigitte, sans toi SASPC ne sera plus la meme chose! You will be dearly missed!

So it is the five of us now - Maura, Susan, Zoja, Kerstin and me - who will try to keep up with feeding your creative steampunk mojo with our makes!  (if anyone who loves steampunk and is already part of the DecoArt Outreach Blogger program thinks about applying for our design team now, please, go ahead - my email address can be found in our side bar. There's no payment or free stuff or anything like that - all I can offer is being part of this amazing team and the usual "fame and honour").

But let's start with presenting the design team's projects!

is cooking some "steampunk imagination brew" in her cauldron
and invites you to cook your own.

What a brilliant idea to use the gears as bubbles!
And I love the "knob" of the large stirring spoon!

So spooky! For more Halloween inspiration on Kerstin's blog,
simply click HERE

created this stunning "Halloween Steampunk Board"
and wowed me once again with the vibrant
colours she used.

created this amazing mixed media piece
in honour of Edgar Allan Poe
and titled it
"With Love"

I love the stamped metal plate and the wonderfully worn cover surface!

And I especially love the quote she has put into the book box!
More pictures of the finished project on her blog

also wonderfully imaginative piece goes by the title "Toxique"
and she wonders (and also makes me wonder)
what on Earth this bird with the Fez is collecting here -
are these treasures or toxins?

(That Fez is making me giggle every time I see it)

- Claudia -

had a joyful play with Tim Holtz Distress, stamps and techniques this time
and combined these with some DecoArt Liquid Glass
and Emerald Creek embossing powder
(can you guess where these were used?)
to create this funny Halloween tag that I call

"Life of the Steampunk Party"

Maybe this close up holds the clue

(this guy reminds me of someone...but I just can't figure right now who it is)

***

Well - that's our October bundle of Steampunk-Halloween-Inspiration and we hope you'll leave inspired to create and enter your own projects to our challenge soon! We can't wait to see what you will come up with!

Also do not forget to come back on 15th October to check out if you are one of our Top5 and/or prize winners from the September challenge! ;)

Hugs and happy steampunk crafting!

And now it's (finally!) time for some applause for our....

who created the most wonderful
birthday card a dad could wish for

steampunk card

by altering a facial creme container

Sandee and Amelie's September 2019 Steampunk Challenge

Hello and welcome friends, to our little corner of the Steampunk Universe!

Maura here, and all I can say is WOW!!

What a fantastic turnout for our Summer Special Challenge! I can tell already, it's going to be super difficult for the design team to select our Top Five. Thanks so much to each and every one of you who entered our Summer challenge and  to those of you who stopped by to visit, we truly appreciate it.

The design team shares their makes at the beginning of each month to jumpstart your creativity.

Our September challenge is, as usual...

Anything Goes Steampunk/Industrial

We welcome all types of projects (except digitally created) and encourage everyone, from beginner to  experienced to join us every month and share your creations. Show us your tags, cards, canvas, art journal, altered objects...whatever you can imagine that fits our theme of steampunk/industrial. We truly are in awe of the imagination and creativity of you, our players, and look forward each challenge to see where your creative muse took you!

Many thanks to our wonderful and generous sponsors,

DecoArt

 and boozybear

for keeping the gears and cogs turning here at SASPC!

At the end of each challenge, two winners are randomly selected from all proper entries (be sure to check out our posted rules) and will either get an awesome DecoArt Media prize package, or an amazing chipboard package.

Now...on to the awesome makes from our wonderful team!

Zoja

created this very cool, and a bit spooky, altered box with lots of great dimensional elements!

Look how it slides up to reveal a hidden compartment filled with treasures.

has turned her hand to a bit of sewing and fabric incorporated into her mixed media masterpiece!

up cycled some packaging materials and combined paints and prepared die cuts from her "holiday tool box" to create a mixed media panel (with improvised stand) that she titled
"The Inventor"

made a canvas board titled "The Dog on the Wall" using paint, stencil, die cut and image...
Looks like a lot of math going on here!

shares another textural masterpiece titled
"Another Path"
Look carefully and you can see the bicycle hanging from chains!

Detail...

and I, Maura

"Rust Never Sleeps"
My muse works in mysterious ways...I was inspired to create my ATC's by a broken down washing machine with rusty pipes, an old truck with a rusted frame, and a song! I'm sharing the story behind that on my blog.

Detail of one of Maura's "rusty pipes"

Thanks for stopping by our little corner of the Steampunk Universe.

We hope to see you playing along with us this month in our steampunk/industrial challenge which is open until the end of September.

Remember, we will have two prize draws and choose the design team's Top 5, and post on September 15th, so be sure to pop back to check that out.

Time to put your top hat on, cinch up your corset, or tie on your spats, and get crafting with us!
Hugs, and happy crafting!
