A hearty welcome to SanDee&amelie's challenge blog!

Please, note, that this challenge blog is not related to any business and run without any profit by people, who do this for your and their own leisure time fun! Our only reward are your encouraging comments and your playing along and sharing steampunk fun and mixed media techniques. We appreciate every single entry and comment so much! Thank you for taking the time!

If you are new to this place, please, know that we are so glad that you stopped by our little steampunk corner!
Whether you are a dedicated tag or card maker, art journaler or mixed media lover - this might be the right place for you!
For more information about the rules and the little "steampunk/industrial twist" we ask of you, please check the "about" stuff and then simply jump in and create!

If you are new to steampunk and not sure if this is "your thing", maybe take a look at our winners gallery on pinterest (use the linking button on our side bar). You will find that we're mainly a mixed media challenge blog with a little twist towards steampunk, industrial and/or vintage. So why not give it a try?

We are looking forward to seeing your fab projects entered to one of our challenges soon!

SASPC September 2018 Top5 and Prize Winners

Hi, servus and welcome to our announcing the Top5 and prize winners from the September challenge, dear steampunk and industrial style friends!

As always I feel the urge to say a huge THANK YOU to all who have been playing along with us so truly and constantly since my (dearly missed) friend Sandra and I put up this challenge blog. We have come incredibly far and this spot wouldn't be the special place it has become without YOU and your wonderful makes and all the fab inspiration shared (and without my wonderful design team and our generous sponsors DecoArt media and Glenda from boozybear chipboard pieces of course). I feel truly blessed to be the owner of this challenge blog - because of you all! Mwah! XXX

The October challenge is in full swing (remember, we also accept Halloween themed makes as long as they have at least a bit of a visible twist towards industrial or steampunk) and there's still two more weeks left to enter the challenge, share some steampunk fun, maybe make our Top5 by doing so and also to get eligible for one of our two prize bundles - one being donated by DecoArt media

the other - a surprise package of awesomely inspiring steampunk chipboard pieces - by awesomely talented Glenda aka boozybear.

The winners get drawn randomly from all proper entries. So make sure you've checked our few challenge rules before you enter our challenge for the first time!

So let's see who won the September goodies...

...aaaaand the winner of the DecoArt package is...

#6 - Christine

The boozybear package goes to

#23 - Karin Boreas

Yay! Congrats, ladies! Well done! Please, contact me under the email address given in our side bar so I can forward your shipping info to our sponsors. (DecoArt need a phone number as well, so, please, include that too). Thanks so much for playing along! xxx

And without any further ado .... our September Top5! Applause, applause, applause!!!!!

showed us how to add a little steampunk twist to her
lovely scrapbook style project

has come up with this gobsmackingly
brilliant trio of ATCs

created this breathtakingly beautiful canvas
with some creepy crawlies and loads of yummy metal surface texture

Steampunk hat blew us away completely!

Huge congrats, ladies! We've loved your entries so much! Please, feel free to grab the Top5 badge (from the top of this post or our side bar) for display on your blogs! Thanks so much for playing along and sharing your creativity with us! xxx

Before I say good-bye, just one more reminder to join in our October challenge, which can be found HERE. ;)

SanDee&amelie's October 2018 Steampunk Challenge

Hi, servus and welcome back to the start of our October challenge, dear steampunk and industrial style mixed media, stamping and crafting friends!

It's Claudia here this month to present our new challenge. As always our theme is

Anything Goes - Steampunk/Industrial

but as Halloween is fast approaching we of course also welcome projects that are a mix of both - steampunk/industrial elements and Halloween fun! This way you don't have to interrupt any Halloween swing you're currently in but are still able to play along with us (and get eligible for one of our two prizes being given away to randomly drawn players by our generous sponsors DecoArt media and boozybear). The challenge is open until the end of the month. Prize winners and Top5 will be announced on the 15th of the following month.

If you haven't already checked out our few and simple to follow challenge rules, we would like to ask you to do so before entering our challenge - it would be a shame if your wonderful makes would have to be excluded from Top 5 votes or prize draws!

As mentioned above - Halloween is in the air already: so a great part of the design team have also come up with projects that have a Halloween twist. But have a look yourselves:

has come up with this awesomely textural
"Double Frame"

Just look at the beautiful detail in the background:

headed over to the darker side this month, inspired by the legends of the Celcitc goddess Morrigu.

She created four ATCs  using alcohol inks, then connected them into a folding panel.

has once more created a beautifully layered mixed media panel in her unique style.
"The Halloween month has begun -
the right time for a tombstone in a bewitched place!"
she says.

amazingly textural and wonderfully eerie project
goes by the title of
"Survivoring Halloween"

has once more created a steampunk project using
vibrant colours and combining these with beautiful
steampunk themed bits 'n bobs.

You just gotta love this mini steampunk album!

and I

- Claudia -

have challenged myself  with the mission to use up some of my long hoarded tiny scraps and pieces I have been keeping in little tins and bowls on my desk (some for ages) and combine then into a mixed media steampunk canvas

The only spooky detail with my project is that it has one piece on it that I have been hoarding
for at least five years now! lol

As usual you will find more images and info on the projects by visiting the design team's blogs. Please,  leave them a little love there if you can spare a second or two. You will make them very happy by doing so! Thank you!

So get your thinking hats on, rummage your boxes with those long hoarded treasures, browse your favourite steampunk and Halloween themed dies, get out your favourite colours for this time of the year....do whatever makes you happy at your craft desks and share the results with us by entering our challenge. We love being inspired by all your fantastic makes and your imagination!

Don't forget to come back here on the 15th to find out who made it into our September Top5 and who won the prizes from our two generous sponsors!

SASPC September 2018 Challenge

Namaste! Hello and welcome, friends, to our little corner of the Steampunk Universe! Maura here this month guiding us along in the airship SASPC. Go ahead and get yourself a nice hot cup of tea or coffee, or whatever you like, and settle in with us and just enjoy some great inspiration on this month's journey.

We are really happy that many of you joined us for our Summer Challenge! So many truly creative Steampunk and Industrial projects - you really inspire us! We love having you here playing along with us in a mixed media steampunk and industrial style. Once again, the design team is sharing all makes at the beginning of the month, which will give you  lots of inspiration to get started.

The September challenge is as usual...

Anything Goes - Steampunk/Industrial

We welcome all types of projects (except digitally created) and encourage everyone, from beginner to experienced to join us every month and share your creations. Show us your tag, card, canvas, art journal, altered object...whatever you can imagine that fits our steampunk/industrial theme. We truly are in awe of the imagination and creativity of you, our players, and look forward each challenge to see where your creative muse took you.

Many thanks to our wonderful and generous sponsors, DecoArt and boozybear, for keeping the gears and cogs turning here at SASPC!

At the end of each challenge, two winners are randomly selected from all proper entries (be sure to check out our posted rules) and will get either an awesome DecoArt Media prize package, or an amazing boozybear chipboard package.

Now...enjoy the awesome makes from our wonderful team!

...has created this dapper gentleman's canvas with watercolor and images. He certainly looks like he is ready for an adventure!

...has created a rusty tin, right off of a laboratory shelf

...and filled it with tiny story books. I am really curious now about the stories inside the tin.

Claudia shares that her husband's birthday is today, and wishes her love happy birthday! (We do too!) She made him a steampunk style birthday card, using Tim's new "Foundry" 3D embossing folder (which she loves) and some DecoArt goodness (which she loves too;) to create the look of metal in all its glory. (There's a tutorial of course on her blog, as always)

She kept the design quite simple so the focus remains on the beautiful background and the quote.
("Alles Gute" is German for "all the best")

...has let her imagination loose again and can be found somewhere in the universe, riding the back of a giant tortoise. Life is certainly an adventure when you travel at tortoise speed!

...made a mixed media cover for an new journal in an industrial style. That young man looks ready to take on the world with his confidant air.

...altered a tiny old drawer into a shadow box filled with intriguing treasures. Using the drawer handle to hang it is ingenious.

Thanks again for stopping by our little corner of the Steampunk Universe. We hope you will play along with us this month in our steampunk/industrial challenge which is open until the end of September. We will have two prize draws and choose the design team's Top 5, so be sure to pop back on September 15th. to check that out.

Time to adjust your top hat and goggles and get crafting with us!
Hugs, and happy crafting!

SASPC Summer Special Challenge Reminder and Throwback in Time

Hi, servus and welcome to a summer special challenge reminder that is a little different from the ones from the last years. As the whole team have already posted their makes on the 1st of July (HERE), I thought I could use this opportunity to look back at the very beginnings of this challenge blog and pick some projects that deserve to be put into the spotlight again.

All the details and the collection to enter your projects for our summer special challenge into, can be found HERE (or by clicking on the badge on the top of our side bar). There is still time until the end of August to enter up to five makes (instead of the usual three) to try to win one of our two fab prize bundles that will be given away by lovely Glenda from boozybear and DecoArt media.

But let's start with our throwback in time! Sandra and I founded this challenge blog and soon started having special guests (so there were more than just two "design duo" projects). I still remember having lovely Candy Colwell as our guest in our very first year. The little miniature dresser made for our "matchbox steampunk" challenge was just breathtakingly amazing and so beautiful!

Karolina Stopyra aka Drycha was our guest in June 2013 and created this adorable steampunk fish card with cogs scales for us!

Sandra, whom I still miss dearly, was the one who had the idea of setting up our own mixed media steampunk challenge blog - so we actually owe her this wonderful creative spot! I am so happy that she made me do this! She sadly had to turn down her creative hobby and we have lost touch. I hope she is happy and doing well!

Our wonderful and true Brigitte finally turned our duo into a team of three in November 2013...and this was her first project as a regular DT member:

In March 2014 Susan Janicula aka klistersoster joined the design team (and I am so happy and proud to tell that she has been with us since then!) with this cool steampunk steampunk card.

Dear Kerstin joined the design team a little later and this lovely altered box was her first project as our new member:

And I am still in love with former design team member Agnieszka's adorable steampunk bowler hat!

Lovely Nate, who had been with us for quite a while too, amazed me with this beautiful project (well, not just with this particular one...lol):

And fabulous Zoja has been creating the most amazing assemblage pieces since she has joined our design team (and hopefully will do so for much longer :)

Wonderful Maura has rejoined our design team some time ago - which has made me very happy! She has been making the most inventive and funniest projects ever since - like this Tyvek charm she has created from used envelopes and acrylic paints and media.

And my wonderful and dear friend Laura was part of our amazing design team too! I miss her and her wonderful projects.

And of course there were the most inspiring makes by amazingly talented Niki to be admired on our challenge blog...

...and not to forget about Dee, who has enriched our design team with her unique projects too!

Lovely and evenly amazing Alexa was the last talent to join our design team and I am so happy to have her!

With all these amazing talents I have had or still have the pleasure to work alongside I can call myself a very lucky challenge blog owner, can't I?

I hope you have enjoyed this little creative time warp as much as I have! I can't believe that this is year six on my journey as a challenge blog owner! And I can't believe how far we have come! I am so thankful and proud of all the wonderful guest designers we have had and of all our true and fantastic players, who join in so regularly, and I am also thankful for our fabulous current prize sponsors boozybear and DecoArt media, and all our former prize sponsors too! Thank you all so much for helping and having helped making this place the special spot it is today!

Our summer special challenge is open for one more month and you can simply click on the badge at the top of our sidebar or scroll down to the previous post to learn about the details and to get to the actual DT makes and the inlinkz collection to join in! Thanks for stopping by and happy summer holidays!
