A hearty welcome to SanDee&amelie's challenge blog!

Please, note, that this challenge blog is not related to any business and run without any profit by people, who do this for your and their own leisure time fun! Our only reward are your encouraging comments and your playing along and sharing steampunk fun and mixed media techniques. We appreciate every single entry and comment so much! Thank you for taking the time!

If you are new to this place, please, know that we are so glad that you stopped by our little steampunk corner!
Whether you are a dedicated tag or card maker, art journaler or mixed media lover - this might be the right place for you!
For more information about the rules and the little "steampunk/industrial twist" we ask of you, please check the "about" stuff and then simply jump in and create!

If you are new to steampunk and not sure if this is "your thing", maybe take a look at our winners gallery on pinterest (use the linking button on our side bar). You will find that we're mainly a mixed media challenge blog with a little twist towards steampunk, industrial and/or vintage. So why not give it a try?

We are looking forward to seeing your fab projects entered to one of our challenges soon!

Hugs,
SanDee&amelie&the SASPC team

Mid Month Inspiration - August Challenge

Servus, dear Steampunk friends!

I am back from my lovely three weeks holiday in the wonderful Austrian Salzkammergut and just in time to provide you with the next bundle of inspiration for our August challenge

Team B has once again come up with amazing creations to flame the creative spark in you! ;) (and all those who haven't seen the makes of Team A yet should take a close look at those too)!  (You get to the actual challenge by clicking the button on the right side bar or by clicking the link above).

Please, take the time to leave a comment or two (or more ;) with my wonderful DT ladies' blogs - your comments are what encourages them and keeps them going (and me too of course ;).  You get there by clicking their names.

An old saying from the school days was the linchpin for my idea:

"Physics - that is what never succeeds  - chemistry is what bangs and smells "

Do you know it?

A small dusty laboratory was created out of an old wooden box (tea). The great inventor ;-) has no time for remove such mundane things such as dust and cobwebs. He's looking for a new tincture for eternal youth.

I decided to make an old Pharmacy laboratory - a window to the medicines of the past.

Where would we be without those "lab geeks" we so often love to smile at behind their backs? I am sure it takes inventive minds - who behave "inventive" too in a way - to push mankind to the next level. Maybe they need to "be" out of the box to be able to think out of the box....

And of course we have a wonderful prize to give away to one lucky (randomly drawn) winner too. This month our sponsor is lovely Iris from

http://shop.irishteddy.com/epages/es117026.sf/de_DE/?ObjectPath=/Shops/es117026_Irishteddy/Categories

and she is giving away a 10 Euro voucher for her fab online store! (Thank you, Iris! xx ;)

So don't miss the chance to join in our Steampunk fun and maybe even win the prize or make our Top3!

Hugs and happy crafting,

Claudia and the SASPC Team

February Spotlight and Sponsor

Servus and welcome back, dear Steampunk friends!

Time for the mid-month reminder as usual for our February "Time Machine" challenge which you can still enter to get eligible to win this months prize sponsored by Iris (thank you, Iris!) from

http://shop.irishteddy.com/epages/es117026.sf/de_DE/?ObjectPath=/Shops/es117026_Irishteddy/Categories

or become one of our chosen Top3 for the 2D or 3D collections. All you have to do is enter a project to our challenge via inlinkz in the challenge post (following the theme and the challenge rules). You can also apply for being Guest Designer with one of our challenges by adding a "GD" to your name when using the inlinkz tool!

But now on to this month's spotlight! And some great news (well, no real news exactly but more a bit of a teaser ;) along with that: we are happy that we will be able to introduce two new members who have joined our DT and will be with us from March! So come back for the March challenge to learn more about who they are and what they have in store for you!

To keep them a bit busy I have already asked them to choose the spotlight for this month and they both went for the same entry (and also tell us why):

and her most fantastic time machine!

http://papierowywymiar.blogspot.co.at/2014/02/time-machine.html

"... her project is really impressive, with all the small elements and the background that is so in sync with the alarm clock insides."

"...As one her first Steampunk projects I think that it has succeeded very well for Kasia. There is no doubt that it is a time machine that can bring us to where we want - by the way, is Kasia still here on Earth?"

Honestly, regarding all the intimidating wires and gears, gauges and spinning hands I wonder too if Kasia has already left this time universe to travel to an alternative one where she discovers the most exciting or terrifying things. Let's hope she has not altered any timelines she shouldn't have!

Well done, Kasia! We love your time machine! Please, feel free to grab the badge for your blog!

There is still time until the end of February to enter our challenge "Time Machine". We have had a lot of fabulous entries so far, but of course we would like to see yours too ;)

Hugs and happy crafting,
S, B, A, S & A ;)

Top3 and Prize Winner of our December Challenge

Hello, dear Steampunk friends,

time to announce the Top3 for the December challenge and the winner of our fab prize!

Thank you to all those who played with us in December - although there's usually not a lot of time left for creating anything else than X-mas cards or doing other preparations for X-mas Eve or the holidays! We loved your vehicles and Santa looking so glad sitting in them (and enjoying his new and faster ride).

As there were only three entries for the 3D collection, there are no Top3 of course, but on the other hand we loved all three entries so much, so I would love to link to them too: Dagmar, Elly and Tina shared the most gorgeous 3D makes with us and they are well worth a visit!

The team had at least to choose from the entries for the 2D collection and these are our Top3 - tadaaah!

Top 3

September Prize Winner and Top3

Oooops, sorry I am a bit late today, but things have been a bit hectic during the last days as I slipped in the shower two days ago and almost broke my ribs - seems I was lucky "just" to have some heavy bruises on my left side (moving is a bit hurtful and raising my left arm is not a good idea at the moment) and the x-ray that had to be done didn't show any severe injuries.... *phew!

So I am here now (at last!!) to bring to you the Top3 of our september challenge "Dolls 'n Robots" and the randomly drawn prize winner of the 10 Euro voucher for Irishteddy's online store.

The entries were - as usual - absolutely fantastically thought-outside-the-box ones and we loved them all! We really appreciate the amount of creativity and thought you always put into the makes you enter with our challenges! Thank you so much!

As there were only three entries with our 2D collection, we decided to just vote a Top winner...

Here they come (in no particular order):

2D

3D

Congrats, ladies! Soooo very well done! Please, feel free to grab  the Top3 badge for display on your blogs!

And now on to our prize winner. And random.org picked Nr.9

which is

Tina!

Congrats , Tina, you won a 10 Euro voucher for shopping with Irishteddy's well sorted online store! (Thank you so much, Iris, for being our generous sponsor! ;)

Please, contact me (see link at the sidebar) for further details!

(I always add the numbers of the 3D collection's entries to the numbers of the 2D collection before using random.org, so #9 over at the 3D collection is actually the 3D entry #6 - just in case any of you wondered how this works).

Our new challenge for october has already started - this month we are playing Steampunk Tic Tac Toe! We would love you to join us and have fun!

Hugs and happy crafting,

SanDee&amelie xx

September Spotlight

Hello and servus out there, all ye Steampunk admirers!

I am here today to share with you a Spotlight - thrown onto one of our fabulous artists who have already joined in our "Dolls 'n Robots" Challenge for this month. (It is still open until the end of the month and all who enter get eligible for the random prize draw for a 10 Euro voucher for the awesome Irishteddy's on line store! So don't hesitate - there's still some time left to create a tag, card, paper doll, altered art robot... or whatever you think suits the theme).

Today's spotlight features the absolutely adorable whimsy make of Chrissie from Jumbled Crafts

She creates the most enchanting Steampunk characters from felt and gorgeous embellishments - this time it is "Alexandra Nealy", a "scientist with a secret". (Check out her great blog to learn more).

Thank you, Chrissie, for sharing this fantastic and imaginative make with us! Please, feel free to grab the badge for your blog!

Hugs and happy crafting,

Mid Month Reminder and September's Prize Sponsor

Hello, dear Steampunk friends!

We are here to remind you of our "Dolls 'n Robots" challenge for september.
There are only three entries at the moment (hope the theme didn't scare anyone off...we are still waiting for 2D projects like tags, cards,.... honestly whatever you can imagine fits the theme as long as it is Steampunk) and this always troubles us a bit, being anxious that we might not have chosen a theme that meets your expectations or taste.

But we have learned that many of you create rather elaborate projects which take their time in planning and making...even though we also would love to see some  tags and cards from you ;) This challenge is meant for everyone, who loves Steampunk and paper crafting, mixed media and/or drawing, painting, altering....

But gladly there are still two more weeks to go and we also have a wonderful prize to give away once again, this time sponsored by

Iris from Irishteddy's

Thank you so much, Iris, for being one of our very first regular sponsors for our challenges! This means a lot to us, as we both are great fans of your online store (I admit, I leave most of my crafting money with Iris' awesome shop ;).

She is generously giving away a 10 Euro voucher for shopping with her on line store to one randomly chosen winner! Isn't that great?

Paper dolls, stamped Steampunk dolls or robots, dolls or robots we haven't even heard of yet.... we are waiting for your creations! ;)

Have a happy time crafting!

SanDee&amelie
