A hearty welcome to SanDee&amelie's challenge blog!

Please, note, that this challenge blog is not related to any business and run without any profit by people, who do this for your and their own leisure time fun! Our only reward are your encouraging comments and your playing along and sharing steampunk fun and mixed media techniques. We appreciate every single entry and comment so much! Thank you for taking the time!

If you are new to this place, please, know that we are so glad that you stopped by our little steampunk corner!
Whether you are a dedicated tag or card maker, art journaler or mixed media lover - this might be the right place for you!
For more information about the rules and the little "steampunk/industrial twist" we ask of you, please check the "about" stuff and then simply jump in and create!

If you are new to steampunk and not sure if this is "your thing", maybe take a look at our winners gallery on pinterest (use the linking button on our side bar). You will find that we're mainly a mixed media challenge blog with a little twist towards steampunk, industrial and/or vintage. So why not give it a try?

We are looking forward to seeing your fab projects entered to one of our challenges soon!

Team B Inspiration and Prize Sponsor - June Challenge

is this month's challenge theme and we want you to exclusively use all shades of grey, blue and rust you can come up with (and choose to use with your creations). Black lines from stamped images or quotes are allowed - but no other colours!

Team A already showed their fab inspirational stuff at the start of the month over here. Today it is Team B's turn to provide you with some more inspiration - so here we go:

please, welcome wonderful Laura from Laurart to the team! I am so excited that she said "yes" when I invited her over to join us and artistically explore the steampunk world with us! I really adore her mix of shabby chic, vintage and elegant steampunk, because it shows a totally different approach to it - which I really love!

Laura says:

I am so pleased to be here as a member of this wonderful Design Team! I have always been fascinated with Steampunk and have enjoyed taking on the challenge of using it in my designs. I must admit my usual style doesn't seem to fit in with Steampunk - I tend to have a more feminine and vintage style, but I find that Steampunk adds a nice twist to my work and it is fun too! As a result of embracing this style I have found such enjoyment in tackling a more grungy style and this has been so much fun. I look forward to working with these very talented designers and I hope that you enjoy watching my Steampunk Journey along the way!

And here is what Laura came up with for her first project for our challenge blog:

I am so thrilled to be here on Claudia's Steampunk Team! I am sharing with
you today a canvas I made in those gorgeous shades of Grey, Blue and Rust.
I had so much fun making this!

To see Laura's fabulous make in more detail hop over to her blog (by clicking the image or her name above the image). It really is worth it! (as is visiting all blogs of our team members by the way ;)

And now let's move on to the "rest" of the team's makes:

"I really wanted to conquer the world, but it's raining" ;-)
it was an old wooden frame, I used acrylic paint (blue) + croco crackling colour (grey) + rusty effects

Gladly I managed to lay my hands on the awesome Sizzix Alterations arch die at a sale recently - and this is my first project I used it on! I had a ball playing around with distress crackle, paints, cogs and gears, Tim Holtz papers and idea-ology and the tones from our challenge's colour scheme!

It's also time to announce our prize sponsor for this month: it is once again wonderful Tusia from 7 Dots Studio - yay! -  (thank you sooo much, Tusia! xx)

...and she is giving away this wonderful stamp set to one randomly drawn player:

To get eligible for the prize win all you have to do is join in the steampunk fun and enter a creation to our challenge that follows the theme and our general challenge rules (which can be found at the top of the page and are quickly read). As always we offer two separate collections for your projects: one for the 2D makes (tags, cards, art journal spreads,...) and one for the 3D creations (altered items, boxes, jewelry pieces, ATBs, ...). So make sure you enter your project to the right one ;). Our inlinkz collections are to be found over here.

Show us your shades of grey, blue and rust!  (They don't have to be fifty, a few will do - but we want to see shades of all three...sorry for the pun - I just HAD to ;)

Hugs and happy crafting,
Claudia and the team xxx
