A hearty welcome to SanDee&amelie's challenge blog!

Please, note, that this challenge blog is not related to any business and run without any profit by people, who do this for your and their own leisure time fun! Our only reward are your encouraging comments and your playing along and sharing steampunk fun and mixed media techniques. We appreciate every single entry and comment so much! Thank you for taking the time!

If you are new to this place, please, know that we are so glad that you stopped by our little steampunk corner!
Whether you are a dedicated tag or card maker, art journaler or mixed media lover - this might be the right place for you!
For more information about the rules and the little "steampunk/industrial twist" we ask of you, please check the "about" stuff and then simply jump in and create!

If you are new to steampunk and not sure if this is "your thing", maybe take a look at our winners gallery on pinterest (use the linking button on our side bar). You will find that we're mainly a mixed media challenge blog with a little twist towards steampunk, industrial and/or vintage. So why not give it a try?

We are looking forward to seeing your fab projects entered to one of our challenges soon!

November '16 Challenge - Mid Month Reminder

Servus and welcome back to the promised second bundle of inspiration created for you by the fab ladies from Team B!

Our November challenge is once more an

Anything Goes - Steampunk/Industrial

and we want to see it all - cards, tags, canvases, mixed media mayhem, industrial eye candy, steampunk drawings, ATCs, altered objects,.....as long as they have at least a hint of steampunk or industrial on them. We want you to have fun and be daring - so don't be shy and play along!
You could make our Top5 or maybe win one of our two prizes given away by our generous sponsors DecoArt media and boozybear!

And now on to the promised Team B projects!

simply focused on the word in this canvas, an idea she had a long time ago, but
procrastinated until now to get it made.

created "Sea  Fantasies" - a mixed media 3D frame,
where she obviously had great fun to play with a lot of metal embellishments
alongside some yummy embossing and rust effects with DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylics.

used lots of DecoArt media paints, pastes and texture products on this piece
alongside the beautiful boozybear "Mechanical World Cluster" chipboard set.

and

(=me)

created a trio of ATCs,
using scraps of an old protective paper sheet with tons of DecoArt media paints on it
for the background.

I hope your imagination has been fuelled well! If you want to learn more about the projects, please, visit the teamies' blogs to find infos on the how-tos or media used and maybe also take a second to leaven them a short comment to let them know you were there! You get to their blogs by clicking on their names.

Our November challenge is open until the end of the month as usual. If you haven't checked out the makes of Team A, simply click on the "actual challenge" badge on top of our side bar to get there.
We hope to see you play along with us soon!

SanDee&amelie's November 2016 Challenge

Hi, servus and welcome back to another of our

"Anything Goes - Steampunk/Industrial"

mixed media challenges! We're happy that you stop by our little creative corner in steampunk craftin' blogland and hope you will join in!

As usual Team A kick off the November challenge with a bundle of inspirational steampunk projects - so here we go (and of course it is always a good idea to visit the teamies' blogs for more images and details - just click on the names to get there. And if you make them happy by leaving a short comment as well that would be so lovely!) :

created this fantastic A5 size accordion book from watercolour paper

layered a paper tag onto a larger cardboard tag and used various
images, die cuts, an altered bottlecap and flowers in a pipe (how genius is that!?)
to create a "steampunk tag flower vase". ;)

is sharing her latest treasure with us:
a vintage dial phone from a forgotten drawer,
given to her by the IT department.
Of course she had to turn this gift into treasure!

has made herself a most beautiful little notebook with a stylus in it
so she can carry it with her on her travels.

and

went all "metallic mechanical" on a canvas and is trying to lure you over to her blog
with this close up  ;)

***

And if these fab projects didn't do the job with luring you into playing along with us, maybe the prizes from our sponsors will do:

who are giving away this bundle of media goodness

and

who is giving away a surprise package of awesome steampunk chipboard pieces.

Each prize will be given to one randomly drawn player - so don't miss the chance to get yourself some new stuff to play with! The challenge is - as always - open until the end of the month. Check out our few rules if you haven't done so already - it would be a shame if we had to exclude anyone from the draws.

Prize winners and Top 5 from our October challenge will be announded on 12th November - so make sure you check back. And then there will be the makes of Team B on the 15th - so come back for more inspiration by then! In the meantime:

hugs and happy crafting!

October '16 Challenge - Mid-Month-Reminder

Servus and welcome (back), dear steampunk mixed media lovers and friends!

Team B have prepared another bundle of awesome inspirational projects to lure you in on playing along! And if you haven't checked out the makes of team A yet, I highly recommend you do so after reading this post and get the full dose of mixed media steampunk goodness! (just click on the badge on top of our side bar to get to the according post).

Our two generous sponsors DecoArt media and boozybear steampunk chipboard pieces are again giving away prize packages  to two lucky winners who will be picked among all proper entries - so don't miss the chance!
The challenge is still open until the end of October - so you still have two more weeks to enter a project (or maybe even the allowed three).

The theme is as always "Anything Goes - Steampunk/Industrial" and if you want to add a little Halloween-ish twist to it that is more than welcome! ;)

And here we go:

As Halloween is a couple of weeks away she just couldn't resist making
a SteamPunkin.

topped with a couple of ghosts

decided to create a home decor project
with lots of dimension and texture

"The Face of Time"

has done her magic and created a large tag for you today

and of course she used lots of DecoArt paints, pastes and potions
on it.

(that's me)

I am revisiting one of my favourite TV series with my son at the mo
and we are not only having fun but it also inspired this project. I am sure some of you will recognise what it is that I have made ;)

Claudia (when getting her own Farnsworth): "Does this mean I'm an agent now?"
Artie: "No, it means I can reach you anytime of day or night."
Claudia: "Okay, not so good."

Lovers of Warehouse 13, where are you???!!!

***

As you might already have noticed, Niki's make is missing. She has decided to explore new creative paths and is taking a steampunk time out for now and I fully understand and encouraged her to do so - even though I loved having her on our team and will miss her! But I know pretty well that we all reach a point at times when we feel that we need to try and explore new paths - and then we should listen to that inner voice and just follow.  Good luck and have lots of fun and joyful creative moments, Niki! We can't wait to see where your new creative adventures will be taking you!
Hugs and wishes! xxx

September '16 Challenge - Team B Makes

Servus and welcome back to our usual mid-monthly share of the inspirational makes of Team B!

And I am using this opportunity to welcome all our new players who have joined in during the last few months!

This place is constantly growing and attracting more and more fabulously creative people from all around the globe and we are so proud of that - but I also know that part of this is due to our players, my fab Design Team and our prize sponsors, who all make this place the special mixed media spot it is! So thank you for being so true and for sharing your fantastic mixed media art with us so constantly!

Our aim is for you to find a lot of fun and inspiration by playing along and during your visits here and also by visiting the blogs of our players and the DT! We are open for all sorts of crafters and artists, for all levels of skill and all kinds of stamped, painted, collaged, drawn,...well, media-mixed projects as long as they are handmade. These can be cards, tags, altered objects, altered art jewellery, canvasses, art journal pages, assemblage pieces...well, whatever you can think of. All we ask for is that your projects are either industrial or steampunk style mixed media projects. It's that easy and that fun!

Our challenges are open for a whole month and you can either make our Top5 (who are being chosen by the whole DT) or/and win one of our two monthly prizes donated by our generous sponsors DecoArt media and boozybear. All you have to do is stick to the few challenge rules (that can be found on an extra page right under our challenge blog header) and enter up to three projects!

We would also love it if you took a second or two to visit the blogs of the DT (for more information and images and maybe even  a how-to here and there) and leave a short comment of approval! You get to their blogs by clicking on their names. And be assured - you will make them very happy by doing so!

As most of our challenges are, the September challenge is an

Anything Goes - Steampunk/Industrial

one too.

You will find the linky tool at the bottom of this post.

And here are the projects
from Team B:

decided to make an industrial style project this time.
She has altered the cover of her new timer and
calls her piece
"Let time stand still!"

(which is me)
I  had a fun play with some of Tim Holtz' Sizzix dies
and created a steampunk necklace pendant using
his ornate frame die and some shrink plastic.
There's a how-to on my blog.

transformed an old encyclopedia into a steampunk
"Tome of Time"

used a mixed media board and lots of DecoArt media
products to create this beauty:

and

challenged herself by using just a limited number of art supplies
to create this awesome vintage travellers tag.
(stencils, embossing powder, distress ink and "lots of metal tidbits"
as she says).
