SASPC January 2019 - Top 5 and Prize Winners

Hi, servus and welcome to the announcement of our January Top 5 artists and the two lucky winners of the prizes generously donated by the lovely ladies from DecoArt and boozybear!

Just let me start with reminding you of our actual February challenge that is still open until the end of the month (and can be found by either scrolling down to the previous post or by clicking the top image on our side bar) and that offers another opportunity to make Top 5 or win one or the other wonderful prize bundle ;)

January brought a lot of amazing entries and this time picking our favourites ended up in the team being rather split with Top votes...which has led to four (!) projects getting fourth-most points (not sure if this is proper English...lol). So there are a Top 7 instead of just five this time and we present them in no particular order as always.

Applause, applause for....

who created a huge bundle of amazing
steampunk ATCs

who amazed us with a super grungy masculine card

Sara Emily Barker https://sarascloset1.blogspot.com/2019/01/repairs-receive-constant-attention.html Tim Holtz Sizzix Alterations Gadget Gears Stampers Anonymous Inventor 1 Dapper Birch & Pine 1

who enchanted us with her charming steampunk balloon

aka crea_red

with a cool steampunk top hat

(as it was a project entered via Instagram, I can only display this tiny image of her make)

who has created steampunk magic on this beautiful mixed media canvas

with another fabulous project that I cannot show on here in larger size due to being an Instagram entry

and

(my personal favourite)

magical lantern made from an old liquor bottle

Huge congrats, ladies, and thanks so much for sharing your fantastic art with us! Please, feel free to grab our Top 5 badge for display on your blogs (if you have one ;).

***

(honestly I am not sure about how to deal with Instagram entries in a way that they can be treated evenly when it comes to challenge blogging possibilities...not being able to show a proper size image on here if a project entered via Instagram made our Top 5, feels awkward and looks wrong to me somehow....only having snippet images to show is definitely not apt to draw attention to your projects and lure one or the other new follower over to your account or blog or whatever it is you're sharing your art on ....hmmm).

And now on to our winners of the two amazing prize bundles!

As usual these were randomly picked from all proper entries (meaning that there was a link to our challenge blog in the project post on their blogs AND that they met all our other few challenge rules) - please, make sure, you check these out if you haven't already done so...maybe you have already been wondering why you haven't made Top 5 with us so far and it is just a matter of challenge rules not having been followed properly. There really are only a few (but crucial rules) to follow and we have to be precise with that as we want to be fair when it comes to picking our two lucky winners!
This time there was the possibility to double chances as each entry that mentioned any "new stash" used in their projects in their posts counted twice!!!!

This year DecoArt are giving away a new fantastic bundle of Americana premium paints and media

and this time the goodies go to

#21 - Autumn

while the surprise package of awesome steampunk chippies from boozybear

go to

#3 - Sara Emily

Yay! Congrats on your prize wins, ladies! Please, email me your shipping info (DecoArt winners, please, include a phone number to provide safe shipping) under the email address you see in the side bar. Thanks for playing along and have fun with your new goodies!

The team and I would like to thank all our players - as always - for all the amazing entries and for making this challenge blog the special mixed media spot it has become. We love to inspire and in return get inspired by you!!!!

We hope to see you play along with us soon (maybe even join in our February challenge?)!!!

Hugs and happy crafting!

SanDee&amelie's February 2019 Steampunk Challenge

Hi, servus and welcome to the start of our February challenge, dear steampunk and industrial style mixed media, card and tag making friends!

As I am struggling with a nasty cold (and a sore throat and heavy headache therefore) I will do this post succinctly (which is quite rare with me...I know...lol).

Our challenge theme is - as always -

Anything Goes - Steampunk/Industrial

and everything you should know about playing along can be found in our challenge rules (see pages tabs below our blog header). If you aren't sure and would like to avoid being excluded from our prize draws or Top5 votes, make sure you check them out.

Our two generous sponsors

and

are with us again this year - so there's a prize bundle of DecoArt premium products and acrylic paints to be won as well as a fab steampunk chipboard surprise package! All you have to do is play along and make sure you are following our few challenge rules to become one of our two prize winners ;)

My wonderful team have created a fab bundle of inspiration for you and if you want to get even more inspiration I highly recommend you check out the makes of our players and the Top 5 as well. This is a place where we all want to inspire, get inspired and share our love for steampunk and industrial style mixed media art - so why only focus on the actual challenge?

Our challenge is open until the end of the month and on the 15th of the following month prize winners and Top 5 get announced (so make sure you return on 15th February to find out about the ones of our January challenge).

But now on to the design team projects! If you want to learn more about a project, please, click on the team members' names and you will be taken to their personal blogs where you will find more pictures and one or the other info on products or techniques used. And if you can spare a sec or two, please, leave them a little love and make them happy. Thank you! ;)

made an amazing set of ATCs,
using Neon paints, pulleys and clock bits

On this one she used part of an old watch band (how inventive!)

followed her heart

and created some yummy steampunk texture!

was inspired by February's Valentines theme
and created a new spread in her art journal

combined some of my favourite elements on her beautiful project:
yummy crackle, a lovely vintage photograph, stencilled texture and rusty tones
and beautiful colours

"Industrial Tag"
is great fun and pure eye candy!

and I

have come up with a fun tag as well...

...and maybe also my worst pun ever...lol
(To make up for this I have done a full step by step for you
over on my blog).

We hope to see you play along with us soon and also return on 15th February for our Top 5 and prize winners announcement for the January challenge ;)

Hugs and happy crafting!
