Boozybear Special I

Servus, hi and welcome to a special feature we're starting today, showcasing the fantastic chipboard pieces from our lovely prize sponsor Glenda aka boozybear being used by my wonderful DT!

 We thought it was about time to give her fab steampunk chipboard pieces the attention they deserve and we will be doing so by showing steampunk/industrial style projects done by my wonderful DT - each using the same boozybear parts but in totally different projects and ways of using them so you can see how versatile these are and maybe also grab a little inspiration here and there for your own projects.

So throughout the next months you will find extra project posts over here - each done by one of my talented DT ladies and I am so happy to have the opportunity to not only show Glenda's amazing chipboard designs but also let my DT each have the stage to herself. (to make it easier for you to compare the projects I will add links to the previously posted boozybear projects to every new project post.) I find the idea thrilling to see how differently the same chipboard pieces can be approached. I hope you do too. ;)

As you all know - each month we have a prize draw among all proper entries and one lucky winner gets a surprise boozybear steampunk chipboard package. Glenda always puts together different prize bundles - so this could be just one possible "version":

Welcome!

Today I would like to share with you a project that was made with some chipboards elements from our

Sponsor 'Boozybear'.

I thought it would be interesting to show some simple embossing techniques
which are very useful for a project in industrial steampunk style.

I used a gift box from a 1 € Store as base to make a new masculine mixed media gift box.

Before and After

First embossing technique - Clockfaces

1. use an embossing ink pad, but press the chippie not so strong on the pad, only a little bit
2. you will reach a randomly altered effect, like a weathered look
3. then add an embossing powder, here Burnt Copper Leaves from Emerald Creek Dare, I love this awesome marble effect

Second embossing technique - Wings

1. start with a base coat of black gesso, let it dry
2. embossed the whole chipboard with a gear folder through a Cuttlebug, Big Shot or whatever you have
3. rubbed silver metallic lustre (DecoArt) over the rough enbossed surface using your fingers
