Second spotlight from the November Challenge

As there were such a lot of wonderful entries and we are in the middle of choosing our Top3 for Saturday (which is - as always - really difficult but has to be done ;) I thought I'd share another spotlight on another fab entry with you:

This terrific art journal page

http://titbelsoeur.eklablog.com/charles-et-moi-ou-steampunk-et-toutes-ces-sortes-de-choses-a103019673

I love the colours she used and that the balloon seems to float in the far background of the misterious scenery. I also love the depth she created and that second balloon that can be seen through the French window... look how she draws the focus to it by the structure of the floor boards and the open door! A brilliant make, isn't it?

Thank you, Titbelsoeur, for sharing your beautiful art with us. Please, feel free to take the badge for your blog. Looking forward to seeing you enter one of our challenges again ;)

Hugs and happy crafting and if you already haven't then have a look at our December challenge now - we would love you to join in our X-mas-Steampunk fun!

Our December Steampunk Challenge

Hello and welcome back, dear readers and steampunk crafting friends!

It's time for a new challenge over here and to dive into Christmas too - only with a steampunk twist of course ;)

This month we want you to create

Santa's New Or Pimped Up Vehicle

Maybe Santa has decided to switch to a more modern vehicle or his old sleigh needed a technical make over..... show us what it is that he will come in this X-mas!

As long as your project is obviously steampunk oriented you can make it an "anything goes" - from 2D to 3D creations (for which we offer as always two separate collections). But, please, do also check our challenge rules (to be found on top of the page).

Again you blew us away with all your artful and creative entries for the november challenge! You are so great! Thank you all so much! Please, check back next saturday to see if you are the prize winner or among our Top3.

This month we also have another Guest Designer with us - please, welcome the lovely talented Maura from the "Two Crafting Sisters"! And - as we had expected - she created the most lovely and whimsical vehicle for Santa:

This is so gorgeous, isn't it?

And this is what Maura wrote us about herself to share with you all:

Hi, I'm Maura and delighted and honored to have been asked to be a guest designer here this month - I love challenges! I'm from upstate New York where I have a fantastic view of the Adirondack mountains from my craft space - great inspiration. My family is my husband, the artist and musician, two grown sons, and Jasper, our jack russell. I teach science and have a passion for art and crafting, I always have some project in the works. As a long time Sci-Fi and fantasy fan, I was ready for Steampunk! For me, it is the perfect blend of science and imagination, and I love to let it run wild. Santa's pimped out steampunk hot air balloon all started with a light bulb and a bucket...

Thanks Amelie and SanDee!

Crafty hugs...oops, watch the inky fingers,

Maura

Thank you so much, Maura, for your charming make and for being with us this month! We really love your balloon Santa comes in as it is such an enchanting project! Big hug and wishes!!!

And here come the DT makes which (hopefully) get you all inspired for creating awesome makes for entering our challenge ;)

Enjoy the pre-Christmas period, have a merry X-mas and a lot of fun crafting!!!

"Balloon, Balloon!" - November Challenge

Welcome back to another edition of SanDee&amelie's Steampunk Challenges! This month we want you to create something with the theme

"Balloon, Balloon!"

It is totally up to you how you interpret the theme and whether you create a 2D or 3D project - as long as it is Steampunk and the theme is visible with your projects (and we don't have to search for a relating item with the magnifying glass *lol).

As usual we were blown away by all your entries for our "TicTacToe" challenge (thank you ever sooo much for playing with us and entering such artful and creative makes!) and we will announce the Top3 and prize winner on saturday next week - so, please, come back then to check out if you are among the chosen.

We also want YOU to be our future guest designers. If you want to be with us as a GUEST DESIGNER for one of our monthly challenges just add GD to your name when entering our challenge with a project. We would love to have you as our special guest! :)

***

We also had planned on having a special guest with us for this month - Barbara from Magic Delights!
Sadly and unexpectedly life got in her way and therefore she cannot be with us this month. We hope that she will be able to join us some other month and then we can introduce her and her lovely art to you. Take care, Barbara, and get well soon!!!!

***

But now onto some good news: Sandra and me are very happy to introduce to you our very first official DT member - Brigitte, better known to you as coutureuse from "La maison de Coutureuse"!

We were so happy when she said yes to our invitation on joining us permanently as we love her steampunk makes and all of her thought out of the box projects!

And this is what Brigitte tells us about herself:

I have been addicted to crafts for many years. First there were fibers and textiles and now it's mixed media. I love to mix and match this and that, I love altered things - to create a new thing that is totally different.

Steampunk is a perfect theme for combining art and imagination. Internet is the biggest museum in the world and challenges open the door to creativity. No limits -  except the time...

Welcome to our team, Brigitte! We are so glad to have you with us!

***
Of course we all have been busy working on showing you something inspirational to get you going:

Isn't her first make for our challenge fantastic? The balloon is even 3D! So cool!

As always there are two separate (2D and 3D) collections to enter your projects to - so please watch closely when entering them via the inlinkz-tool below (and don't forget about the Guest Designers option ;). Have fun crafting, stamping and getting messy! The challenge rules are to be found at the top of the page and our challenge is open until the end of the month. So there's enough time to roll some ideas in your heads and then get them done. ;)

Looking forward to seeing your awesome creations entered with our challenge soon!
Hugs,
SanDee&amelie

October Spotlight

Time for a spotlight, don't you think too?

I found this little treasure I want to share with you today. It's from Amy Petrou:

I love the stitched together metal plates - this idea is sooo brilliant (and if allowed to I might borrow it some time ;).

Thank you for the awesome inspiration, Amy! Please, feel free to take the badge for your site.

We already have an awesome bundle of lovely projects entered to our October challenge, but there is still more time to go....and maybe win the gorgeous Red Lead stencils ;)
To get to our current challenge, please, click here or click the image on top of the side bar. Thank you!

We would love to see your tags, cards, altered items,... entered soon with our 2D and 3D projects collections ;)

Aren't they great? I love using their stencils - especially for my art journaling but also for some of my steampunk makes ;)

September Prize Winner and Top3

Oooops, sorry I am a bit late today, but things have been a bit hectic during the last days as I slipped in the shower two days ago and almost broke my ribs - seems I was lucky "just" to have some heavy bruises on my left side (moving is a bit hurtful and raising my left arm is not a good idea at the moment) and the x-ray that had to be done didn't show any severe injuries.... *phew!

So I am here now (at last!!) to bring to you the Top3 of our september challenge "Dolls 'n Robots" and the randomly drawn prize winner of the 10 Euro voucher for Irishteddy's online store.

The entries were - as usual - absolutely fantastically thought-outside-the-box ones and we loved them all! We really appreciate the amount of creativity and thought you always put into the makes you enter with our challenges! Thank you so much!

As there were only three entries with our 2D collection, we decided to just vote a Top winner...

Here they come (in no particular order):

2D

3D

Congrats, ladies! Soooo very well done! Please, feel free to grab  the Top3 badge for display on your blogs!

And now on to our prize winner. And random.org picked Nr.9

which is

Tina!

Congrats , Tina, you won a 10 Euro voucher for shopping with Irishteddy's well sorted online store! (Thank you so much, Iris, for being our generous sponsor! ;)

Please, contact me (see link at the sidebar) for further details!

(I always add the numbers of the 3D collection's entries to the numbers of the 2D collection before using random.org, so #9 over at the 3D collection is actually the 3D entry #6 - just in case any of you wondered how this works).

Our new challenge for october has already started - this month we are playing Steampunk Tic Tac Toe! We would love you to join us and have fun!

Hugs and happy crafting,

SanDee&amelie xx
