A hearty welcome to SanDee&amelie's challenge blog!

Please, note, that this challenge blog is not related to any business and run without any profit by people, who do this for your and their own leisure time fun! Our only reward are your encouraging comments and your playing along and sharing steampunk fun and mixed media techniques. We appreciate every single entry and comment so much! Thank you for taking the time!

If you are new to this place, please, know that we are so glad that you stopped by our little steampunk corner!
Whether you are a dedicated tag or card maker, art journaler or mixed media lover - this might be the right place for you!
For more information about the rules and the little "steampunk/industrial twist" we ask of you, please check the "about" stuff and then simply jump in and create!

If you are new to steampunk and not sure if this is "your thing", maybe take a look at our winners gallery on pinterest (use the linking button on our side bar). You will find that we're mainly a mixed media challenge blog with a little twist towards steampunk, industrial and/or vintage. So why not give it a try?

We are looking forward to seeing your fab projects entered to one of our challenges soon!

Hugs,

Fairytales into our STEAMPUNK world - Challenge No. 2

After having such a wonderful time with YOU on the Cuckoos Clock goes Steampunk challenge we have started thinking of other things to blend Steampunk with and it came to me – why not incorporate another favourite topic,

FAIRYTALES, into our Steampunk world.

Imagine the tin man from The Wizard of Oz with a few more gauges and gadgets or Rumpelstiltskin in top hat and goggles or maybe Aladdin flying in an airship instead of on a magic carpet. This challenge is all about creating fairytale characters with a steampunk flair. Let your creative imagination run wild! We can´t wait to see what you show us this time.

We offer two separate inlinkz-collections for 2D and 3D/altered objects each. So the monthly Top3 will be chosen twice and the problem of the two categories not being comparable may be solved that way too - besides creating a much larger field for creativity.

To continue our challenge blog, we managed to invite an extraordinary talented male stamper and crafter to do us the honour being our Special Guest Designer for April:
a warm welcome to MARK PERRY  from UK.
Follow his blog if you like to get a firework of inspiration -  he is just such an amazing artist..
Watch out what he has created for our Challenge! WOW! Thank you Mark!

About MARK:

Hi my name is Mark A.K.A The Male Crafter. I started crafting just over a year ago, although I have done arty kind of things for a while but never the amount of things I do now, thanks to AJ my partner ... now I cant get enough of it.
I love to alter things and grunge things up ( love Tim Holtz ) and like to design things anything...I came across Steam Punk a couple of years ago when I went to the Goth weekend in Whitby UK and these guys were walking around in some fantastic outfits, so I checked online and was surprised what I found ... all you needed was an imagination and some cogs n bits n bobs ...
I sell my crafts either at work to colleagues or if anybody contacts me, I have mainly sold my meander books and a shop in my town has 10 at a time sells them and asks me for a new order so keeps me busy... And now been asked to be a guest designer for these Cool guys WOW Big honour for me, but out of everything I do I hope it inspires others to try Crafting and to enjoy what they create ...

Here are the DT makes:

"But over the hills, where the seven dwarves dwell,
Snow-white is still alive and well"

"mirror mirror on the wall"
who knows to which Fairytale this quote belongs

and just playing a little bit about my left over in ATC Format

Hopefully you have seen sufficient inspiration to be in the mood to create something for our challenge and join in. We would love to see your projects with this month's challenge! The Top3 of each the 2D and 3D section for the "Cuckoo clock"-challenge and the prize winner will be announced in a few days. So check back to find out if you are the one!

XOXO

  12. Zuerst einmal ein ganz herzliches Dankeschön dafür, dass Ihr meine Steampunk-Kuckucksuhr so hervorgehoben habt! Das motiviert ungemein! Wie Ihr unschwer an meinem diesmaligen Beitrag erkennen werdet. Der Englände würde sagen: "I was carried away...".
    Manu
